Sinbad Limestone

A view of the typical rocks in the canyonlands of southeastern Utah.  Jurassic Navajo Sandstone Jn, Kayenta Formation Jk, and Wingate Sandstone Jw, form most of the shear vertical cliffs.  The Triassic Chinle Tc, with all it's petrified wood is just below the Wingate.  The lower Triassic Moenkopi Tm, with the Sinbad Limestone Member Tms, the thin gray beds, form the floor of most of Sinbad Country (the area inside the cliffs of the San Rafael Swell).  poorly preserved ammonoids are found in this thin gray bed.
